Operation Tread Lightly
(2023-Present)
In collaboration with Rockaboo Mountain Adventures and Parks Canada, MSW is advancing research on the Athabasca Glacier through the Operation Tread Lightly Project (OPTL). The team is developing modular Raspberry Pi sensors for glacial monitoring and exploring clean energy solutions for a net-zero mobile research trailer.
CAN-RGX VIII
(2024-25)
TMSW’s CAN-RGX VIII project focuses on studying how cyanobacteria behaves under microgravity using a custom-built bioreactor. This innovative initiative aims to explore the potential of these microorganisms for oxygen production and waste recycling in space environments. The bioreactor is designed to monitor cyanobacteria growth, metabolism, and adaptability precisely. By understanding their behavior in microgravity, MSW hopes to contribute to advancements in sustainable life support systems for long-term space missions.
